The Festival of LGBT Film has concluded its 36th edition! Even though it was a though year for us all, our awsome audience came flocking in great numbers, making this year's festival one of the most sucessful in recent years. Thank you all! Without further ado: The audience has spoken and voted for the best film of the festival. This year's winner is: Welcome to Chechnya, USA, 2020, 107’Writers: David France, Tyler H. WalkDirector: David FranceCast: Olga Baranova, David Isteev, Maxim LapunovProduction: Public Square Films idr. Since 2017, Chechnya’s tyrannical leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, has waged a depraved operation to “cleanse the blood” of LGBTQ Chechens, overseeing a government-directed campaign to detain, torture and execute them. With no help from the Kremlin and only faint global condemnation, activists take matters into their own hands. In his new documentary, David France uses a remarkable approach to anonymity to expose this atrocity and to tell the story of an extraordinary group of people confronting evil.
